Ifigenia hotel Skiathos
Ifigenia hotel Skiathos is where we stayed for a week. Located almost next to the school and bus terminal. A 5 minute walk to bars and restaurants and a 10 minute walk to Bar street, the road which leads to the end of the runway. Specifically to see the ‘second St Maartin’ plane landings. The main sea front, marina and amenities is literally a 5-7 minute walk away. The ferry port around a 10 minute walk away. The restaurants, cafes and boats for booking boat trips around 7-10 minute walk away.
We had reserved a sea view room. Upon arrival, we were asked if we could stay in a pool view room until the next morning. With this in mind, we were able to review 2 different rooms. The room with the pool view had a positive side- 4 electrical sockets which were great for charging up phones, cameras and using a hairdryer. The view wasn’t bad at all.
versus Sea View
The sea view room we had, was lovely. However, on the negative side, only had 1 electrical socket. This made it very difficult when swapping and charging items up between us. This room overlooked the school and the sailing boats and the sea. Notably, we also had great views of the enormous ferry from SeaJets coming in and reversing. It was like a cruise ship.
The rooms were spacious with a refrigerator, wardrobe, air conditioning, a phone and bed. A dressing table and chair. The hotel has 25 rooms.
Breakfast is served buffet style from 08.30am consisting of breads, pastries, coffee, tea, juices, cereals. Meats, cheese, yoghurt, fruit and eggs.
The breakfast could be taken downstairs either besides the pool or in the dining room.
The hosts were very friendly throughout our stay and the room cleaned daily with fresh towels.
A negative point for us..
Another key point, in the sea view room the bedside lamps were placed above the pillows in such a way, that our heads kept banging on them. Like I mentioned in the room, there was only 1 plug. Those are the only negatives to report on.
Nevertheless, I will be returning back to this hotel as I love the location and the hosts were lovely. The sea view room had a nice balcony where we could watch the planes arriving before landing. There was a useful washing airer fixed to the wall, with which to dry those sandy towels. It was a quiet hotel, no noise disturbance either from any other guests.
